This TED talk about Echolocation changed how I listen to my flute
Ever since I saw this TED talk by Daniel Kish - who's blind - talk about how he uses echolocation to navigate the world I listen to my flute differently.
You will notice that the echos of your flute sound different in your practice room vs your garage vs outside vs an auditorium. Now, I listen carefully and I can "see" with my ears a little bit about my surroundings. It helps me know how it's going to sound to someone sitting at the back of the auditorium too.
Hope you find this interesting!
