Color only works when value works. If the values are wrong, no color choice will save the image. Before thinking about hue or saturation, ask: • Does the light read? • Can I tell forms apart in grayscale? Value is the foundation. Color sits on top of it. Assignment: Choose a simple subject. Stylization is not random exaggeration. It’s the intentional simplification, exaggeration, or omission of reality.
