This Flashback Friday takes us back to 2008.
During this era, Chief Fasola Odunade and I hosted community gatherings to honor Òrìṣà and bring healing and their transformative spirit to the Atlanta community. We called this series of events Aria for Òrìṣà.
Each month we gathered for a celebration. Each week we met for dance classes to prepare for it.
This was an amazing time. It gave birth to the Òrìṣà celebrations that are popular in Atlanta today.
Ifá is a team sport. Every dancer, drummer, and elder who showed up week after week built something that still lives today.
