In Òrìṣà culture, we give to receive. This powerful law of reciprocity lets Òrìṣà know we are grateful for their presence and for all they do. In return, it motivates them. Through the offerings we give, they continue to bless us, and we continue to show our appreciation, which strengthens the bond. Gratitude flows toward them. Blessings flow back to us. Flashback Friday takes us back to 2008.
Flashback Friday This Flashback Friday takes us back to 2008. During this era, Chief Fasola Odunade and I hosted community gatherings to honor Òrìṣà and bring healing and their transformative spirit to the Atlanta community. We called this series of events Aria for Òrìṣà. Each month we gathered for a celebration. Each week we met for dance classes to prepare for it. This was an amazing time. It gave birth to the Òrìṣà celebrations that are popular in Atlanta today. Ifá is a team sport. Every dancer, drummer, and elder who showed up week after week built something that still lives today.

Ifa temple in Osogbo Grand Opening
When community comes together, great things happen. On this day, a great thing occurred: the opening of the new Ifá temple in Osogbo, Nigeria. This temple stands as one of the premier temples in all of West Africa. It brings together an ancient and historic community that has made a major contribution to the Ifá and Òrìṣà community worldwide. Ifá is a team sport. Every hand that lifted this temple, every voice that prayed over it, every elder who guided it played a role, and the collective grows stronger because of that unity. Osogbo has long been a place where culture is protected and passed forward. Today, that legacy has a new home for generations to gather, learn, and give thanks. Celebrate with us. Honor the builders. Honor the community that made it possible.

Egúngún Worship Day Greetings
Egúngún Worship Day Greetings One of our great leaders has left us with great advice to follow: “We have nothing to lose but our chains.” This great leader is Mama Assata Shakur. She led her people on a powerful crusade to free all people of color from oppression. Her words have guided me throughout my life. They are a reminder of what is necessary to be successful in our mission to uplift our community. We were selected to honor Mama Assata Shakur at her Homegoing ceremony in New York City on May 30, 2026. It was a truly blessed occasion. May her spirit live on forever. We Love You
