You've got a list somewhere. Maybe it's in your notes app. Maybe it's in your head. "Produce for 2 hours every day." "Finish 3 tracks this week." "Post content every day." Sounds great on paper. But here's what actually happens. You hit day three and life gets in the way. A long shift. A family thing. You're tired. So you skip it. And then the guilt kicks in. And then you skip the next day because the guilt makes it worse. And before you know it, two weeks have gone by and you haven't touched the DAW. That's not a discipline problem. That's a ceiling problem. You set your expectations so high that the moment you fall short, the whole thing collapses. So let's flip it.... Instead of a ceiling — set a floor. The floor is simple. One rule. NO MORE ZERO DAYS ‼️ A zero day is any day where you could have done something to move your music forward and you chose not to. Not a day where life genuinely got in the way. A day where you had twenty minutes and you spent it scrolling instead. That's a zero day. The floor isn't "produce for two hours." The floor is... do something. Every single day. Open the project. Listen back to what you've got. Adjust the levels. Sketch a bassline. Watch fifteen minutes of Fran LF breaking down a low end. Doesn't matter how small. What matters is that you didn't let the day pass as a zero. Because here's what nobody tells you about procrastination. It's not laziness. It's avoidance. It is avoiding the work you know you should be doing. You're not avoiding the DAW because you don't care. You're avoiding it because some part of you is scared of sitting down and finding out that the track isn't as good as it sounded in your head. So you wait for the "right moment." The moment when you're inspired. When you've got a full evening free. When the energy is right. That moment rarely comes. And while you're waiting for it... the producers who are getting signed aren't waiting for anything. They're opening the session on a Tuesday evening with forty minutes to spare and just going.

You’re probably sat there, reading this. Whilst a track that you started last week is begging to get finished. But for some reason, you just cannot bring yourself to complete it. The low end still needs work. The levels are over the place. The crazy part is - it’s not even due to a lack of talent. But you can't help to compare yourself to the producers out there who are on top right now. So, what’s the real difference between you and them? One thing. A decisive systematic process. That’s the reason you’re still stuck. I know this myself, I used to be in that exact spot. So let me help you out for a quick second here. I’m speaking to the younger version of me who is hungry and knows he can make it happen but no execution. Right now, you don’t need more plugins or more samples. You need to restrict yourself and just go all in on one routine. You can't improve by obsessing over the same track for weeks on end. You have to learn how to make decisions quickly and move on. Oh and... FINISH EVERYTHING YOU START. You can't keep starting a new track half way through thinking the next one will be better, that's a trap. That happens when you lack a process. Every time you start a new track, you’ve got to have a process, a few clear steps you stick to. Only then will you be able to unlock your full creative mind. The secret to mastery is repetition. Following the process again and again and again until you KNOW it. Until it becomes automatic. Produce repetitiously start to finish with the right system and mindset. Focus on progress over perfection, understand that when you do this over and over and over you will install the process into your mind and you'll begin to produce tracks without much conscious thought.
