Mid Week Awareness
Good morning everyone, here’s something for your brain to chew on mid week! Can we normalise the fact that weight issues are rarely just about “loving food too much” or having “no willpower”? Because for most people, it goes much deeper than that. Some of the most common reasons people struggle with their weight are (and there are PLENTY of them!): Stress Anxiety Poor sleep Emotional eating Burnout Hormonal changes All or nothing thinking Years of dieting Using food to cope, comfort, reward, relax, or switch off Low self worth Feeling constantly overwhelmed Being stuck in survival mode for years Any more anyone?? And over time, those things create patterns. Eating quickly. Eating automatically. Constant food noise. Cravings in the evenings. Starting over every Monday. Feeling guilty after eating. Using food as relief after difficult days. Does any of this sound familiar 👂 Most people already know what foods are considered “healthy” or “unhealthy”.The struggle is usually not lack of information, I’d go so far as to say there’s too much information! It’s the relationship with food, stress, emotions, habits, and themselves. That’s why strict diets often work temporarily, but the patterns underneath stay the same. Real change often starts with AWARENESS. Understanding why you eat. Learning how to pause. Feeling calmer in your body. Reducing the guilt and pressure around food.
