House of Suraj is a space for healthy escapism, a place to step out of the noise & reconnect with your body through pre-recorded tutorials, in-person London based group sessions, live online classes, full moon somatic rituals & private 1:1 training.
Rooted in LGBTQ+ dance cultures like Waacking & Global Majority experiences, we use movement as a tool for wellbeing, creative expression, joy, and collective care.
We honor dance as more than performance; it is memory, freedom, and connection. Community comes before competition, and the dance floor remains a place to breathe, belong, and grow.
Founded by Kumari Suraj, a global Waacking Icon, non-binary multidisciplinary artist & educator, House of Suraj is shaped by over two decades of cultural stewardship. Since retiring from leading public classes, Kumari shares their archive of pedagogy & collected dance knowledge for study, practice, community connection, continued cultural understanding, & enjoyment on skool.
