Chargers Let Us Down as Our Main Pick in Week 4
Well team, sometimes the numbers line up, the matchup screams value, and the bet still doesn’t cash. Our main pick in Week 4 was the Chargers, and they came up short against the Giants, 21–18.
The offensive line was the story. Rookie left tackle Joe Alt went down early with a high ankle sprain, leaving a thin unit even thinner. His replacement, Austin Deculus, allowed six pressures in just 37 snaps—the most of any Chargers lineman. Guards Zion Johnson and Jamaree Salyer each gave up four more. When your quarterback is running for his life all game, good things don’t usually follow.
Lesson learned: even when the metrics point one way, you have to weigh the unknowns—injuries, depth, and how backups hold up under pressure. The Chargers had the edge in most categories, but the O-line collapse flipped the script.
We’ll regroup, take the hit, and move on to Week 5. The key in betting isn’t chasing perfection—it’s stacking good weeks and bouncing back after the misses.
Final: Giants 21, Chargers 18. Our ATS record takes a step back, but the season is long, and we’re still in the fight.
