So to all my horse people as you must know January 1st is right around the corner.. YIPPEE!! To all the night watch out there it's time to buckle down make sure to go to whatever farm your night watching at and get you a foaling sheet or sheets going this should have the names of the Dam, and Sire , the owner of (mare)s name the LDB (last date bred)the date mare had her last foal , witch in this caseit will be (date foaled 2024) and the sex of that foal and last make sure your foaling shedd has the projected foaling day witch is (due date 2025) most farms your working for will provide you with a list like this but make sure you make a separate foaling sheet if they do not provide it and that's a foaling check list . The check list is everything you will need during the delivery and after the goal has arrived make sure you keep track of the times like when the baby is out of the mare and breathing on his or her own to the time it stands the time it nurses ect it's a good habit to keep track of these things write down notes so you can go back and answer any questions the owner of the farm your foaling at might have .. soif you've always wanted to know where or how to start up in the foaling world and being a night watch let's talk..
