Who This Is For and How to Get the Most Out of It
Here's the updated opening post: G'day, I'm Tim — and here's why I started this community. I've been running a few home service business for over 22 years. Family-owned, built from the ground up, and grown into something I'm proud of. Over that time I've made every mistake you can make — bad hires, wasted ad spend, jobs that went sideways, customers I didn't handle as well as I should have. And I've also figured out what actually works: building systems that let the business run properly, using Google and Meta ads to generate consistent leads, getting reviews the right way, and handling complaints in a way that protects the business and keeps the customer happy to name a few. I hold IICRC and WoolSafe certification and I'm a Master Textile Technician — but honestly, what's shaped me more than the qualifications is 22 years of running a real business with real problems. Here's the thing I've learned: it's rarely a lack of effort that holds a business back. Most of the time there's just a roadblock you can't quite see from where you're standing. Sometimes you're too close to it. Sometimes you just need someone to look at it with fresh eyes, or a community of people who've hit the same wall and found a way through. That's what this is for. A place to share what's working, ask the questions you can't always ask out loud, work through the stuff that's keeping you stuck, and get some one-on-one help when you need it. No fluff, no theory — just honest, practical conversations from people still building real businesses. This community is for anyone running a home service business — trades like electricians and plumbers, lawn care, pest control, cleaning, you name it. If you're showing up every day trying to build something, you belong here. I'll be sharing what's actually working in my businesses right now — SOPs, ad strategies, lead handling, reviews, complaints, identifying constraints, the lot. Ask questions. Share what you're working on. That's what this is here for.
