Welcome to an OT-led community focused on home safety, accessibility, and aging in place. This group is for adults, caregivers, and homeowners who want to prevent falls, reduce injury risk, and create homes that truly support independence.
Led by Alexandra Bowen, OT Reg. (Ont.), this space provides practical, real-world education based on in-home occupational therapy experience. We focus on proactive planning—not waiting until a fall, injury, or crisis forces change.
Topics discussed include: home safety assessments and hidden hazards; bathroom and stair safety; falls prevention; aging in place planning; mobility aids (walkers, wheelchairs, scooters); home accessibility and modifications; caregiver safety and transfers; and when an OT assessment is appropriate.
This is a supportive, educational space to learn, ask questions, and gain confidence in making informed decisions about safer, more accessible homes.
