Introduce yourself!
So many of our members have been doing this for years. Quick intro, what part of the country are you in, how long you've been doing projection mapping, link to your youtube channel, pic of your house, have fun with it. This is a visual medium, we all love seeing examples of your work.
New to this and still learning.
Not new to light shows but new to this. I do a large Christmas show to music but out in the country Halloween is not very popular nor is trick or treating. My house sits about 160ft back from the road and it is a single story mobile which makes creating a canvas very difficult that can be seen clearly from that distance.. The front is 9ft tall and 66ft wide so making something clear enough to be seen from that distance has been a challenge. I am considering using my Enclosed trailer as a canvas that I can put closer to the road to make things easier. It is 8ft tall and 22ft wide and will use coro board to cover the wheels to create a solid canvas. I have an Epson BrightLink 536Wi H670A WXGA 3LCD Projector 3400 Lumens so far which seems pretty bright but still trying to figure out the software and the right distance. I am trying to use Davinci Resolve but can’t seem to grt things to go right to even create a show. Still trying to learn and looking for ideas.
126 days until Halloween
Christmas is always fun, but I think Halloween is where this hobby really shines...pun intended. Scary how fast it always catches up with you as we get closer. This year I'm leaning towards multiple smaller projections. We have a larger property and there are lots of creepy areas to put something up. Still working out the details.

Our background story...
Writing this because it always surprises me how similar everyones journey is. MANY years ago I wanted to try and keep our teen-ish kids (5 of them) closer to home at Halloween. So we started doing walk thru haunted houses in our garage. Had a ton of fun and they were hugely popular, at least the police said so. We made a move and the walk-thru approach wasnt' going to work. So we go into Light-O-Rama, which let you put your lights to music, make shows, and control them at the plug level. House came alive, we lived on a corner by an elementary school and it was a pretty good hit. We got into xLights, which was pixel level control...lot's more work, but more flexibility as well. Again, had a great time and very popular. Putting up the xlights got a little old, 2nd story ladders, hanging off the roof, etc. Projection mapping was kind of becoming popular. Jumped into this, got into Adobe AE, AtmosFX, raspberry Pi and FPP (also used for xLights). The key moment for me was when a middle aged man I didn't know was standing in front of our house eyes wide in wonder and leaned over to me and said "I've never seen anything like this before". If you are here you already are a little over the top with decorating. This kind of response makes it all worth while. It's a journey, but it's a lot of fun!
