To be barren and exercise that much control after your husband had no less than 4 children with Peninnah - “sons and daughters,” children - with the other Wife. And, in a day and age when being barren was a literal SCARLET LETTER. Mind blowing. Then to be mischaracterized as a drunkard by the ill-informed, High Priest and still provide a measured yet polite reply - in a word amazing - such godly restraint. 🤯❤️

Does God want to prosper you? Us? Has he rescued you from the punishment for sin? Has he rescued Me? If the answer is surely he has, then of course he longs to prosper us financially, but I can promise you that he won’t if it means sacrificing or doing away with the Spirit behind 2nd Corinthians 1:3&4.
