Hi everyone, I’m a general dentist from Indonesia with over 8 years of clinical experience, and I’m currently exploring the possibility of working as a dentist in Saudi Arabia. I would like to understand the current regulations and practical situation for non-Saudi dentists. Could anyone with experience in the Saudi healthcare sector, dentistry, HR/recruitment, or licensing help me clarify the following? 1. Eligibility & licensing - Can a non-Saudi/Indonesian dentist currently obtain a professional license through the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS)? - What are the current requirements for DataFlow, professional classification, and the Saudi Dental Licensure Examination (SDLE)? - Are there any specific requirements or restrictions for Indonesian dentists? 2. Employment & recruitment - Are private dental clinics and hospitals currently able to hire dentists from outside Saudi Arabia? - Is it possible to apply from Indonesia and obtain a job offer before relocating? - Are there particular types of hospitals, clinics, or healthcare organizations that commonly recruit non-Saudi dentists? 3. Saudization / localization - What are the current Saudization requirements for dentists? - Are there restrictions on the percentage of Saudi vs. non-Saudi dentists that an establishment can employ? - Are these requirements different between private clinics, hospitals, government hospitals, universities, military hospitals, National Guard hospitals, or other healthcare organizations? 4. Visa / Istiqdam - Is there currently any restriction on issuing work visas (استقدام) for foreign dentists? - If restrictions exist, do they apply to all foreign dentists or only certain professions, establishments, or circumstances? - Does the nationality of the dentist affect the possibility of obtaining an employment visa? 5. Practical job search - For a foreign general dentist with several years of clinical experience, what is the most realistic way to find an employer in Saudi Arabia?
