First, welcome to Hearth & Hollow! Here we encourage curiosity, respect, imagination, and fun. 1. Stay Curious This is a space for learning, so ask any questions you want. There is no such thing as a stupid question, but that doesn't excuse disrespect. If you're curious, ask away! Just be kind and respectful of everyone's experiences, perspectives, and time. 2. Be Respectful & Kind I think it's natural for humans to be judgmental sometimes, but that doesn't mean we should be rude. If something in this course is making you uncomfortable, please reach out to me and we can address it together. However, if you are disrespectful toward other students, communities, or myself, you may be removed from the class. 3. Verify information I am fallible. If you know more about a subject than I do, please reach out to me and we can learn together. This also means that anything I teach should be verified through additional sources whenever possible. Learning is an ongoing process, and none of us ever know everything. 4. Change & Grow It's okay to change your mind. If, at any point, you decide you'd rather learn something else, expand your knowledge in a different direction, or discover that a particular topic isn't for you, that's completely fine. I encourage you to explore every opportunity that sparks your curiosity. 5. Have Fun It's wonderful to be excited about new ideas, ask questions, and explore topics simply because they interest you. Follow your curiosity. Try new things. It's okay to make mistakes, change your mind, and discover unexpected interests along the way. Take what resonates with you, leave what doesn't, and allow yourself room to wonder, imagine, and grow. After all, if we're not enjoying the journey, what's the point? We're on this journey together, and I'm so excited to learn alongside you!
