🧬 WELCOME TO THE HEALTH SYNDICATE — If you’re here, chances are you’re asking the same questions many of us are: How do we become healthier, stronger, more capable, and harder to break down as we get older? The Health Syndicate was created for people who aren’t satisfied with simply accepting declining energy, poor metabolic health, slower recovery, loss of strength, or “that’s just part of getting older.” We want to understand the science. We want to learn from the research. And just as importantly, we want to learn from each other and our real-world experiences. This community is about health optimization through education, science, nutrition, training, recovery, supplementation, peptides, hormones, longevity research, and emerging health science. There will be things discussed here that are well established. There will also be things that are early in the research. Knowing the difference matters. That’s one of the reasons this community exists. 🧬 WHAT YOU’LL FIND INSIDE We’re building The Health Syndicate into an education-first resource for people who want to understand this space instead of blindly following social media advice. Inside you’ll find: 🔬 Peptide Education Learn peptide fundamentals, peptide categories, mechanisms, available research, protocols used in research, reconstitution concepts, and our growing peptide library. 🥩 Nutrition & Metabolic Health Protein, calories, body composition, metabolic health, supplementation, and practical nutrition strategies. 🏋️ Training & Recovery Strength, conditioning, recovery, sleep, injury prevention, and maintaining muscle and performance as we age. 🧪 Hormone & Longevity Education Educational discussions around testosterone, hormone optimization, biomarkers, metabolic health, mitochondrial health, and longevity research. 📚 Research Breakdowns We’ll take complicated studies and emerging research and turn them into information normal people can actually understand. 💬 Real-World Discussion Ask questions. Share experiences. Talk about what worked, what didn’t, and what you learned along the way.

NMN vs NAD or BOTH?
Is anyone here taking NMN? If so, where do you get yours? I’m also curious whether anyone takes both NMN and NAD+, and what led you to use both.
Sometimes we need to “Stop trying to solve basic problems with advanced solutions.”
𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗥𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧 𝗧𝗢 𝗢𝗣𝗧𝗜𝗠𝗜𝗭𝗘. I want to establish something here in the Health Syndicate because I think we’re starting to get things backwards in the health and peptide world. Everyone wants to start with the compound. “What peptide should I take to lose weight?” “What should I take for recovery?” “What should I take for energy?” “What should I take to build muscle?” My first question isn’t going to be about peptides. 𝗠𝘆 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀: 𝗛𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻? Because there are three things that I believe need to become non-negotiable before we start worrying about optimization. 𝗡𝗨𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 If your goal is weight loss, are you consistently in a caloric deficit? Not Monday through Thursday and then completely blowing it up over the weekend. Not “I eat pretty healthy.” I’m talking about understanding how much you’re actually eating versus how much your body is using. Weight loss requires a caloric deficit. Period. A GLP-1 may make maintaining that deficit significantly easier by reducing hunger and helping you eat less. That’s a tool. But the tool doesn’t replace the principle. 𝗦𝗟𝗘𝗘𝗣 Are you getting 7–8 hours? If you’re sleeping four or five hours a night and asking what you should take for recovery, energy or performance, we’re starting in the wrong place. Sleep isn’t the sexy answer. But sometimes the boring answer is the right answer. 𝗘𝗫𝗘𝗥𝗖𝗜𝗦𝗘 Are you consistently training 3–4 days a week? And I’m talking about both resistance training and cardiovascular exercise. Build and maintain muscle. Challenge your cardiovascular system. Move your body consistently. Again, it’s not complicated. 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗦 𝗜𝗦 𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗜 𝗠𝗘𝗔𝗡 𝗕𝗬 “𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗥𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧 𝗧𝗢 𝗢𝗣𝗧𝗜𝗠𝗜𝗭𝗘.” I’m not saying somebody literally has to earn the right to use a peptide. I’m saying stop looking for advanced solutions while ignoring basic problems. If you’re overeating, sleeping five hours and barely exercising, adding another compound isn’t where I want to start. Fix the foundation. Then let’s talk about optimization.

𝗪𝗔𝗡𝗧 𝗧𝗢 𝗟𝗜𝗩𝗘 𝗟𝗢𝗡𝗚𝗘𝗥? 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗕𝗔𝗦𝗜𝗖𝗦 𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗟𝗟 𝗠𝗔𝗧𝗧𝗘𝗥 𝗠𝗢𝗥𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗕𝗜𝗢𝗛𝗔𝗖𝗞𝗦
This one caught my attention because it fits perfectly with what we talk about here inside The Health Syndicate. U.S. News recently published its 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝘆 𝗔𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝘂𝗿𝘃𝗲𝘆, where they surveyed 63 health professionals including physicians, longevity experts, researchers, dietitians, pharmacists and fitness professionals about what actually seems to matter when it comes to living longer AND staying healthy while doing it. And one of the biggest takeaways was surprisingly simple: 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁. I talk about peptides, supplements, hormones, NAD+, mitochondrial health and optimization all the time. I absolutely believe some of these tools can have a place in a well-designed health strategy. But they are tools. They don’t replace exercise. They don’t replace muscle. They don’t replace good nutrition. They don’t replace sleep. And apparently, they don’t replace having people in your life either. 𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗘’𝗦 𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗦𝗨𝗥𝗩𝗘𝗬 𝗙𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗗 When the experts were asked to identify the most important factors for healthy aging, 𝟴𝟵% 𝗰𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗽𝗵𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝘅𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝟴𝟵% 𝗰𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗮 𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁-𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗲, 𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗱𝗶𝗲𝘁. Sleep came next, with 30% identifying restorative, high-quality sleep as one of the most critical factors. Think about that for a second. We spend enormous amounts of time discussing the newest longevity compounds, supplements, wearables, biomarkers and biohacks. Yet when you ask a group of health and longevity experts what matters most, the answer basically comes back: 𝗠𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝗼𝗱𝘆. 𝗘𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹. 𝗦𝗹𝗲𝗲𝗽. Not very sexy. But incredibly important. 𝗠𝗨𝗦𝗖𝗟𝗘 𝗠𝗔𝗬 𝗕𝗘 𝗢𝗡𝗘 𝗢𝗙 𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗠𝗢𝗦𝗧 𝗜𝗠𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗔𝗡𝗧 𝗟𝗢𝗡𝗚𝗘𝗩𝗜𝗧𝗬 𝗧𝗢𝗢𝗟𝗦 This was probably my biggest takeaway from the entire article. The survey asked experts which measurements in adults under 50 might help predict mobility and independence when they reach their 80s. 𝗚𝗿𝗶𝗽 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵 — 𝟯𝟬% 𝗩𝗢𝟮 𝗺𝗮𝘅 — 𝟯𝟬% 𝗦𝗸𝗲𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝗰𝗹𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝘅 — 𝟮𝟮% That tells us something important about what “longevity” actually means.
