One of our members had an #ASK - How do I know that I have Metabolic Neuropathy or Central? And can central be reversed?? These are great questions and my simplified Answers are: A Central Nervous System Neuropathy usually occurs do to a tumor, serious injury, or some sort of stroke to the brain or spinal cord. Typically symptoms are on ONE-SIDE of the body. Central Nervous System injuries that lead to Neuropathy usually require surgery IF it’s a Tumor, otherwise they are not able to be reversed. However, sometimes there are different interventions to help dampen the symptoms by taking out the brains “perception of pain”. Metabolic Neuropathies and its symptoms are caused by several different factors but are typically experienced on both sides of the body - more typically starting in the feet. Metabolic Neuropathies occur due to: - Blood Sugar Issues - Malnutrition - Most Commonly B12 Deficiencies - Autoimmune Diseases - Which can act like a Malnutrition issue because Autoimmune Diseases can make it harder to absorb Vitamins and Minerals; leading to Neuropathy Symptoms.
