I’m Charity Barriere Muhammad — a mother, author, and trauma-informed cultural storyteller. I created Gumbo for the Soul, a healing-centered Skool community for Black women reclaiming their voices after trauma.
As a survivor of childhood abuse and CPTSD, I’ve spent years learning to live beyond survival. Now, I blend faith, emotional honesty, and creative legacy-building to help other women feel safe in their softness.
I’m the founder of Planting Pure Seeds Academy and the author of journals and books that center healing, ancestral connection, and radical rest. Inside my online community, we gather for emotional check-ins, guided prompts, and live Healing Circles — all rooted in truth, tenderness, and sisterhood.
My work is for survivors who are ready to be seen without shame, to grieve without apology, and to rise without performance.
My story isn’t just survival — it’s ministry. And my mission is simple: to help Black women heal out loud.
