I first got interested in Pat Martino’s minor conversion method from a post on a jazz guitar forum. Forum members recommended getting the book “Linear Expressions” and learning the jazz lines. There was some discussion of their interpretation of minor conversion and some posted playing the Activities. That’s where it stopped. You had to be Pat Martino to improvise with these lines.
I did some research, found Armin’s videos and ultimately purchased his course. I learned the jazz lines from the book “Linear Expressions”. This was before I took the course and before Amir graciously made his Formations available on YouTube. I also learned you don’t have to be Pat Martino to improvise with these lines.
Which jazz lines did you learn - Pat Martino’s five Activities or Amir’s four Formations?
