IMO with pearl barley. Neighbors forest.
Wanted to share my attempt this week of collecting IMO with barley. I've been unsuccessful with my first two attempts with rice. Put two boxes out in my neighbors forest that has been undisturbed for 40 years at least. But if this attempt doesn't work it might be time to go to a nearby state park. My boxes are decent size so 5 cups of barley filled them both 1/3 the ways up. The forest has an amazing amount of white covered leaves and sticks when I dig down in certain areas. I have been thinking this was good but now I'm beginning to wonder if this isn't the right kind of mycelium to be looking for. Put these in Monday afternoon. The forecast for the week is highs of 65-70 and lows of 55.

Quick Survey - which inputs have you made?
I'm gonna give a general list of the natural farming inputs (from KNF and JADAM) plus some other adjacent inputs. Just to give me a sense of where we're all coming from, go ahead and comment with each of the inputs you've "successfully" made and applied, so far. (no worries if it's none of them--this is just so I know a bit better how to teach/where to start): JADAM Liquid Fertilizer (JLF) JADAM Microbial Solution (JMS) Shelf-Stable JMS JADAM Natural Pesticide (JNP) - Sulfur + Wetting Agent + Herbal Solution Indigenous Microorganisms (IMO) 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, Liquid Lactic Acid Bacteria (LAB) Fermented Plant/Fruit Juice (FPJ/FFJ) Water Soluble Calcium Acetate/Phosphate (WCA/WCP) Oriental Herbal Nutrient (OHN) Fermented Fish Amino Acids (FAA) Brown Rice (or another kind) Vinegar (BRV) Sea Water (SW) Biochar Hot Compost (temps reached 130-160 F/55-70 C) Bokashi Bran
First try making JADAM microbial solution (JMS)
I boiled a potato for this purpose twice before. Finally followed through. Thx all for inspiration of the group!

JMS - Leaf mold question
I've always used leaf matter covered in white mycelium for my JMS but Taylor, you always mention the soil itself. Is there a reason why? Thanks!
