Welcome to Grind to Flow. Introduce yourself
I've found the solution to the daily grind and it's called the Flow State. My name's Michael Sharpe. I was a recruitment consultant for 15 years, living a life of hustle, targets, phone calls and stress. In 2018 I had my first wake up call, a painful stress related condition called Ramsay Hunt Syndrome. That forced me to go deep into learning about the body's stress response and developing a meditation practice I do every day. Since then I noticed every new manager would use pressure like a weapon, thinking it was driving performance. I watched good people get less and less confident and leave. I thought there had to be a better way. See the acute stress response is only useful if we are running from a lion. If we want to do good work every day we need to tap into more sustainable energy sources, like curiosity, passion and purpose. We need to create calm, safe environments we can do great work and access the flow state every day. In flow we get all of the neurochemicals we need for great work. There's dopamine, norepineprhine, anandamide, seratonin and endorphins. I'm committed to cultivating a daily flow practice and helping others discover the benefit of incorporating the flow state into their daily lives. Please introduce yourself.
