👋 Welcome to GRC Career Path!
I created this community to help people build practical GRC skills, turn those skills into credible career proof, and approach the job search with a clear plan. This won’t be a community where you collect resources and never use them. You’ll learn how GRC work is actually performed, create a simulated portfolio, practice explaining your decisions, and build a focused strategy for the roles you want. Start here: 1. Introduce yourself in the comments using the prompts below. 2. Open the Classroom and complete Module 0: Start Here. 3. Make your own copy of the Module 0 assignment template. 4. Submit your completed assignment under the Module 0 Assignment lesson. For your introduction, share: - Your name and location - Your current role or background - The GRC role you’re interested in - Your biggest career obstacle right now - What you want to accomplish in the next 90 days I’ll go first: I’m Winton. I currently work in security assurance at Airbnb, and I came into GRC through IT audit. I created this community because too many people are told to collect certifications without learning how to evaluate risk, write controls, assess evidence, or explain their judgment. My goal is to help you leave with something stronger than course-completion screenshots. You should leave with work you can honestly discuss with hiring managers. Introduce yourself below, then head to Module 0. Module 0: https://www.skool.com/grc-career-path-4325/classroom/67e52554?md=0ab31719dcbe493fbf23e9bed3e259b0

What would make GRC Career Path more useful to you? I’m planning the next round of content and want your honest input. Tell me what’s helping, what you skip, and what you wish we had more of. That could be cert practice, study plans, hands-on GRC examples, job opportunities, or something I haven’t thought of. The anonymous form below takes about 2 minutes. Preparing for GRC interviews? Find a practice partner.
And what about interviews? How do you prepare on your own and tackle the unknown unknowns? If you're preparing for GRC interviews — find a practice partner. It’s easy to feel prepared until someone asks you to explain your experience out loud. Let’s use this thread to find someone to practice with. Leave a quick intro: - The role you’re targeting. - Whether you have an interview coming up or are getting ready to apply. - One question or topic you struggle to explain. Then reply to someone targeting a similar role and arrange a 15-minute practice session. Take turns answering a question, then share one thing that came across clearly and one thing to improve. You don’t need to be a hiring manager to help. Simply noticing where an answer gets confusing can make the next attempt better. Let's help each other out.

Who’s studying for CISA? Find your study partner.
Who’s studying for CISA? If there's something I should've done, it's study with someone else holding me accountable. So... find your study partner. I’d like to help you connect with others working toward the same goal. If you’re studying for CISA, leave a quick intro below: - Where you are in your prep: just starting, halfway through, or reviewing. - When you’re hoping to take the exam. “Still deciding” is fine. - One topic you’d like help understanding. Then reply to someone whose timeline or challenge sounds similar. Compare study plans, talk through a tricky question, or agree to check in next week. You don’t need to be an expert to help someone else. Sometimes explaining how you approached a question is enough to get a useful conversation going.
