I had studied guitar for 5 years before joining Grateful Mike’s Club, and I had tried every learning tool out there- apps, Youtube videos, group classes, individual classes, instructional books. The main difference with Mike’s club is he aims to teach you how to play the musical instrument - not just memorize songs. The guitar becomes an extension of the voice inside your heart and soul. The method isn’t rocket science. I’m now teaching the concepts to my wife so she can jam with me on piano.

Mike is so easy going and a very good teacher. He says he gears his teaching for "unconventional" guitar players and students. Well isn't that who we all are as fans of the Grateful Dead? LOL... I love how he stresses learning principles, training your ear, and understanding relationships in the music as opposed to just learning theory and such. And, that he uses music that most of us know well and love dearly to teach through just make it all the better. I am new to the club and loving it.

I can’t say enough good things about Mike! I’m incredibly grateful for everything he’s taught me over the years. His simple approach, especially ear training and the 1-4-5, has opened up a whole new world of guitar playing for me. His method is perfect for learning the music of the Grateful Dead, and I’ve learned more from him than I ever imagined. Mike’s course is also an incredible value. Highly recommend!

Excellent experience with this club. Great category structure and archive of live classes. 🥇
