Healthy puppy snack cookies
So I made the puppy’s some dog cookies.. Recipes: 2+ cups whole wheat flour (extra as needed for kneading and to take away stickiness) 1 1/2 cups oats 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon tumeric 1/2 cup pumpkin 1 medium shredded carrot 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce 1 cup natural peanut butter 2 Tablespoons honey 2 large eggs (lightly beaten) 1/4 cup water I started with one cup flour (whole wheat) then added oats baking powder, cinnamon and tumeric. I added beaten eggs, honey, peanut butter, pumpkin, applesauce, and water Mix everything together with a wooden spoon until well combined into a very wet dough. Put 1/4 cup flour on countertop and pour batter in center (scraping the bowl to get all batter) add 1/4 cup flour on top of dough. I mixed that together with my hands adding more flour as needed to make the batter stiffer and manageable being careful not to dry out the dough. Once all combined I greased a silicone mold with a quick spray of oil. I used about a tablespoon of dough and filled each cavity of the mold. Smooth out the top to make cookies flat on bottom. I then removed from the mold and placed on a parchment lined cookie sheet. (They don’t spread so no need to leave a lot of extra room) Bake the cookies at 350 degrees for 11 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool on the pan. Once cool transfer to air tight container. Note—from what I have been reading(I am NO expert- tumeric is good for animals joints and bones just as in humans. Cinnamon is good for their overall well being in that it is an antioxidant and helps regulate blood sugar(just as in humans) pumpkin is good for digestion and apples help with immune function, skin health and ease digestion issues. Honey helps with a weight management, allergies, skin issues. And peanut butter is good for healthy fats protein, healthy vitamins, energy, metabolism, a healthy heart and a healthy coat. The boys loved their cookies, (dad tried one since they are not harmful to humans and said they were bland(it is a dog cookie) but they weren’t bad. Lol
