WELCOME TO THE DOWN AND DIRTY SKOOL COMMUNITY
I'm creating this group to build a team of like-minded, kind, hard-working, trustworthy people on school. I'm happy to have everybody here to learn from all of our strengths, and excited to launch a contractor group. It's been a long time coming since I've built a network of around 200 contractors, and finally have a spot to coordinate all together in one area. Let's have fun, post videos and photos of jobs that you're doing, and learn from each other.
What should you be reading?
I get book recommendations all of the time. And I always think to myself “who has the time to read all these books?” Between 24 hours of continued education for my electrical license renewal, running a business, meetings, construction management class, and gym… why do I need to read about “how to talk to people anytime anywhere?” I think the acquisition of knowledge is only useful if you actually use it to solve a problem. So you should read books around problems you are actively trying to solve in your life. Otherwise, you are wasting time acquiring knowledge that is by an large useless to you and tragically when you finally need to apply it, you’ll have forgotten nearly 100% of it. Don’t believe me? The last book you read, what was the first sentence? What about the last? What was the lesson? Why did you need to read the whole book to learn that? Could you have applied that lesson without the whole book or do you now need to reread the book to apply the solution given? Define YOUR problem, then read books EXCLUSIVELY on that problem. Solve. Good luck Friends

You don’t have Time
Without counting, just by feel how long do you think the average person lives in days? 10,000? 100,000? 1,000,000? The average person lives about 27,360 days. How many have you lived already? Do you think you’ll experience as much in your last decade as you do now? Tick tock

You don’t have Time
There is always work to do
One of the best mind shifts i ever adopted was, when I feel lost to ask myself. “What is the best move I can make right now?” Even if there is no good move, even if you have no energy left… there is always a “best” move.

A Gift to guide you
You’ve spawned on a spinning rock flying tens of thousands of miles per hour through a sea of fire, blackholes, space dust and endless nothing. Everyday your mind is overloaded with endless possibilities & noise. But what if you had a compass that pulled you to your own personal North Star? I’ve attached a gift to help guide those who have it. Next week I’ll help you find it if you haven’t….
