Welcome to Gospel Living
Welcome to Gospel Living! Let’s get to know one another. 👋 I’m Jerry, and I’m glad you’re here. I created Gospel Living to help people grow closer to Jesus, understand God’s Word, and live out their faith in everyday life. You don’t need to have everything figured out to belong here. Bring your questions, your experiences, and your desire to grow. We’re learning together. Introduce yourself in the comments: • What name do you go by? • Where are you joining us from? • What is one area of your faith you’d like to grow in? Share as much or as little as you’re comfortable sharing. As others introduce themselves, welcome someone with a reply. Real faith. Real life. Real change. Let’s begin together.

Who has God given you an opportunity to serve and influence?
You may lead a team, raise children, volunteer at church, mentor a friend, or care for someone who depends on you. Each of those relationships offers an opportunity to lead with the humility, integrity, and love we see in Jesus. In this category, we’ll talk about listening well, making wise decisions, encouraging others, setting healthy boundaries, and serving faithfully. Where do you currently have an opportunity to lead—and what is one challenge you face there? Share only what is appropriate, protecting the privacy of the people involved. As you read the responses, look for someone you can encourage. Your experience may help another member take a faithful next step.

You can be honest about the hard days.
Faith doesn’t make us immune to anxiety, depression, grief, doubt, or exhaustion. I know from my own experience with anxiety and depression that a person can love Jesus and still struggle deeply. I want this community to be a place where we listen with compassion and make room for honest conversation. You won’t be pressured to share your story or explain your pain. Prayer, trusted relationships, and professional care can all be valuable sources of support. As we respond to one another, let’s listen before offering advice and avoid quick explanations for someone else’s suffering. What is one thing that has helped you feel supported during a difficult season? It might be a Scripture passage, a conversation, counseling, a practical habit, or someone simply showing up.

How can we reflect Jesus in difficult conversations?
We encounter strong opinions every day—online, at work, around the dinner table, and sometimes at church. Here, we’ll explore cultural and social questions through Scripture while paying attention to how we treat the people involved. Before posting or replying, let’s commit to listening carefully, representing others fairly, and speaking without insults or personal attacks. We can ask sincere questions and acknowledge when we’re still learning. To begin, let’s focus on something each of us can practice: What helps you respond with patience and respect when you strongly disagree with someone? Share a lesson you’ve learned or a habit you’re working on. Please keep examples free of names and identifying details. Let’s help one another speak truth with humility and love.

What helps you make room for time with God?
Some seasons, prayer and Bible reading come naturally. Other seasons, we feel distracted, tired, or unsure where to begin. We can be honest about both. Growing closer to Jesus involves learning to bring our everyday lives to Him and returning to Him when we get distracted. What is one small practice that helps you connect with God? Maybe it’s praying during your morning walk, reading a short passage before checking your phone, or writing down something you’re learning. If you’re struggling to find a rhythm, you can share that too. Let’s exchange ideas and encourage one another. A simple practice you share might help someone else take their next step.
