I havenβt scrolled on TikTok, YouTube shorts, Instagram, or anything like that for 8 months. I donβt watch TV shows, I donβt watch movies (except for school), and I donβt even watch YouTube videos (only my own). The most βentertainingβ thing I do is listen to audiobooks.
Most people have never even gone a single day without scrolling. Smokers can go weeks without smoking. But many people canβt go 24 hours without opening up social media. That shows how strong this addiction is.
I tried to quit for years and failed. I tried dopamine detox, app blockers, even texting a friend every single day. Nothing worked. I always went back to scrolling.
What finally worked for me was on January 16, 2025. That was the day I said: enough is enough. Since then, I havenβt scrolled once (think about that, itβs actually crazy)
Hereβs the thing:
you donβt have to start by quitting forever. (even though the post suggests that)
Thatβs too hard. You just need to prove to yourself that you can do it for 7 days.
So hereβs my challenge to you:
- For the next 7 days, cut only one thing: short form content.
- You can still watch a long YouTube video, or a movie if you want.
- But no TikTok, no shorts, no reels.
Thatβs it. 7 days. No short form content.
After those 7 days, youβll feel the difference, trust me. This is exactly what all my students and clients have done, all with very very good results.
Whenβs the last time you went even one full day without scrolling? (ON PURPOSE)
