Survey as tool to engage your email list?

I joined Forge yesterday (hooray!) and got an email with Market Research survey form with 2 questions on how Captivate could help me make money. Sooo, as I filled in the form diligently (something I don't usually do) I thought it may be a good way to engage the email list that is dormant? what do you think? if you have any experience with that - what questions do you ask?
