Happy Kermit The Frog Day

As D23 informed me today. Today is the 71st anniversary of Kermit's debut on a show called "Sam & Friends" The show was a short 5 minute program that appeared before the late night news in Washington D.C.

Sam & Friends was Jim Henson's first step into television and initially started as lip synced puppet performances to popular songs of the time. Kermit wasn't even a frog then. He didn't formally become "the frog" until 1969. (Go 69 dudes!!)

Whether you know him best from Sesame Street, The Muppet Show, or the Muppet movies, he's been a source of joy and inspiration. I can personally attest to that.

Kermit might not think it's easy being green but you're movin' right along when you find your rainbow connection.
