What is the most effective way to build (and maintain) muscle strength after age 50?

A fit-ting question then...
A) Long daily cardio walks or swimming only
B) Eating more protein and doing lots of stretching
C) Progressive resistance training 2–3 times a week (using bodyweight, resistance bands, or light weights – like squats, push-ups against a wall, or seated exercise)
D) High-intensity bootcamps or heavy gym lifting every day
