Welcome! Tell me about you.
Hi! Welcome to Girl_GoneStrongCoaching. I am 58 years old and feel better than I have in my entire life. My journey has had many twists and turns with so many lessons along the way. Let me tell you a little bit about me. I am a wife, mother, cancer survivor and all the mental health issues that go along with life. I started my bodybuilding journey back in 2011. I had been out of work taking care of an injured family member. I need to start taking care of me so I could be the best for them. I joined the local YMCA and started going 3 times a week. During this time people used to tell me how strong of a woman I was, handling life so well. Only problem was I would look in the mirror and not see that. Once my family member was better, it was weird not to feel needed. Golds Gym had an advertisement for a New Year's Challenge. I thought why not I really need to figure life out and see that strong woman. On my first session with Caitlyn(who is and MD now) she asked me why I joined the Challenge. I toldher" I had been caring for family member and everyone keeps telling me how strong I am, but I don't see her. I need to see her." This was the start of it all! In 2016 I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. I had been training so hard. I met a competitor that really helped teach and inspire me to get on stage. Only boom, hello breast cancer 🎀. That journey is a story for another day. I will happily answer any questions on the cancer journey, just ask. Fast forward to yes COVID......Here it is 4 years later and I am finally feeling well enough to hit the gym again and NOPE! LOCKDOWN! Well I found Beach Body and started working out at home buying my equipment needed online. It was a good jump start but not quite the rocket launch I hoped for. It was a 2 year roller coaster ride of wieghtloss, weight gain, loving the gym, or being a lazy lay about. Just before covid I started managing for a nationwide supplement company. This was so up my alley. The supplemental knowldge I was given is so valuable along this journey I am thankful. During this time I was able to meet some pretty amazing athletes and really get to know few of them. The knowledge from them...I can not thank them enough.
