Personally, I have found AI to be my sounding board.
It has become a place where I can have conversations that help me find clarity in my thoughts and make sense of what is going on in my life.
I have carried the responsibility of caring for Mum largely on my own since 2018, when she became increasingly dependent. I have no family support nearby, so the responsibility has fallen to me.
The loss of my horses last week, after 11½ years, has completely disrupted my routine and taken away a significant part of my personal time and identity.
Alongside this, the mental load of appointments, shopping, paperwork, household tasks and day-to-day organisation has often felt overwhelming, especially when much of it has to be managed in a foreign language.
My biggest takeaway from this challenge has been discovering that AI is not the diary, planner, or productivity tool I expected it to be. Instead, it has become a source of support, helping me process my thoughts, work through emotions, gain perspective, and find clarity when I feel overwhelmed.
Sometimes what I need most is not another to-do list, but a conversation.
