Many people think Benidorm is nothing more than karaoke bars, cheap drinks and all-night parties. They’re only seeing one part of the resort. Walk a little further and you’ll discover a completely different Benidorm. The Old Town is full of independent bars and restaurants. Poniente has a quieter beach, a beautiful promenade and some of the best sunsets you’ll see anywhere on the Costa Blanca. Then you’ve got hidden coves, mountain walks, tapas streets, viewpoints and family attractions. After living here for more than 30 years, I can honestly say Benidorm isn’t one destination. It’s several different holidays in one place. If you’ve only ever stayed in the New Town, you’ve only seen half of what Benidorm has to offer. Which side of Benidorm do you prefer, the New Town or everything beyond it?

If you’re coming to Benidorm, pack plenty of high-factor sun cream, drink more water than usual and avoid the midday sun where possible. I genuinely love this part of the job. Meeting people, sharing a few laughs, and helping them make memories in what I still think is the fun capital of Europe.
