Any way we can get into Navy Fed Credit Union without joining the military nor with any family member affiliations? Asking for a friend (that friend is me)

Hello everyone my name is Kelton, and I joined the winners circle looking to seek more knowledge and take my credit score to the next level.

Heres the context: Two of my credit cards from capital one were just closed this week. I haven’t received the letters yet, but when I called, they gave me minimal info. Apparently I didn't follow the client expectations of the contract. My question is, would it be smarter to apply for all the credit cards that I have high approval odds for.. and then repair my credit to get rid of the inquiries and start building? Or is it smarter to repair, apply afterwards, then wait for the inquiries to disappear?

I have a few Credit Unions in my area and I like some over the others due to their reviews and customer service. What if the Credit Union of my preference doesn't offer credit cards but they have the other products like Business loan, Personal banking, Business banking, Mortgage services, Personal loan. Should I open an account with them still? Or find another that offers CC? Working on building relationships.
