Welcome to Freedom’s Sake!
I’m so excited to get this community started. Freedom’s Sake was created around a pretty simple belief: Ordinary families can build extraordinary lives. And money is a huge part of that, but this community isn’t just about money. It’s about building a life where you have the freedom to make decisions based on what matters to you instead of what your bills, debt, circumstances, or fear tell you that you have to do. That might mean: Becoming debt free. Buying your first home. Changing careers. Building a business. Traveling with your family. Giving outrageously. Strengthening your marriage. Breaking financial patterns you grew up with. Or simply getting to the point where money isn't something you constantly have to worry about. That's what I want this community to help you build, but I also don't want this to become another group you join, scroll through occasionally, and forget about. I want us to actually do something with what we learn here. We'll talk about money, habits, goals, relationships, careers, generosity, investing, building wealth, and ultimately what all of that money is for. There will be challenges. There will be wins to celebrate. There will probably be some uncomfortable conversations. And hopefully there will be a whole lot of people encouraging each other along the way. So let's start with the most important question: If money were no longer holding you back, what would an extraordinary life look like for you? Don't worry about whether it feels realistic yet. Tell us what you'd build if you knew you could.

🎉 Welcome to the Wins Wall!
This is going to be one of my favorite places in the Freedom's Sake community. We want to celebrate your wins both BIG and small. It's easy to spend so much time looking at how far we still have to go that we completely miss how far we've already come. So this space exists to change that. Paid off a credit card? That's a win. Stayed within your grocery budget for the first time? Win. Had a hard conversation with your spouse instead of avoiding it? Win. Put $50 into savings? Asked for a raise? Applied for a new job? Said no to an impulse purchase? Made your budget? Cooked dinner instead of ordering DoorDash? We want to hear about it. I'll post a Wins Check-In every week to give everyone a chance to stop and recognize the progress they're making, but you don't have to wait for me. If something happens that you're proud of, POST IT! Give us the opportunity to celebrate with you. And when someone else shares a win, jump into the comments and celebrate them too. I want this to become a community where we're genuinely excited to see other families succeed. So let's start right now: What's one win you've had recently? It can be financial, relational, personal, spiritual, career-related, or anything else that's moving your family toward the extraordinary life you're building. Big or small, it counts. Drop it below. 👇

🎯 Welcome to Goals & Accountability!
Having a goal is great. Having a plan for what you're going to do this week to actually reach it is better. This section of Freedom's Sake is where we're going to turn the things we want into things we're actually working toward. I'll post a weekly accountability check-in where you can share what you're working on, report back on how last week went, and decide what needs your attention next, but you don't have to wait for my posts! This is your space too. Make a post when you set a new goal, need some accountability, hit a roadblock, or simply want someone to check back in with you. Start with the big picture. Think about where you want your family and your life to be a year from now. What would make you look back and say: "Wow. We made some serious progress this year." Maybe it's: - Paying off $20,000 of debt - Saving your emergency fund - Changing careers - Starting a business - Investing consistently - Taking your family on a vacation with CASH - Improving your marriage - Getting healthier - Buying a home - Giving more - Finally getting organized Your goals don't have to be exclusively financial. Freedom's Sake is about building an extraordinary life, and money is only one part of that. Then work backward. YEARLY → MONTHLY → WEEKLY If your goal is to pay off $12,000 this year, that's roughly $1,000 this month. But "$1,000 this month" still isn't something you can do. So what are you doing this week? Maybe you're: Selling $300 worth of stuff around the house. Picking up an extra shift. Cutting $100 from the grocery budget. Making the first $250 extra payment. That's where goals become action. And that's what I want us holding each other accountable to. 📌 Your first Goals post Create a post in this category and tell us: 1. What are you working toward over the next year? 2. What needs to happen this month to move you closer? 3. What are 1–3 specific things you will do THIS WEEK? 4. Why does accomplishing this matter to you? That last question matters because eventually motivation wears off. Knowing why you're doing this in the first place is what helps you keep showing up, and don't feel like you need to have some perfectly mapped-out five-year plan before you participate. If you know what you need to do this week, start there. We'll figure out the rest together.

🎯 What Are You Working Toward? Let’s Set Some Goals.
It's time to put some goals on paper!... or this comment section. One of the things I want us to do consistently in Freedom's Sake is stop saying what we'd like to do and start defining what we're actually going to do., and this goes for myself as well. "I want to save more money." "I want to get healthier." "I want to spend more time doing xyz." Those are great desires, but they're hard to act on and even harder to measure. So we're going to make our goals SMART: S — Specific: What exactly are you going to accomplish? M — Measurable: How will you know whether you did it? A — Achievable: Is this something you can realistically accomplish? R — Relevant: Does accomplishing this actually move you toward the life you're trying to build? T — Time-bound: When will you accomplish it? For example, instead of: ❌ "I want to save more money." Try: ✅ "I will add $500 to my emergency fund by September 30th." Now we know exactly what we're trying to accomplish and whether we did it. Let's look at three different timeframes. 📅 THIS WEEK What is ONE thing you will accomplish by the end of this week? Keep these small and actionable. Maybe: "I'll inventory our freezer and plan four dinners around food we already have by Sunday." 🍂 THIS MONTH What do you want to accomplish by September 30? Your weekly goals should ideally help you accomplish this one. "We'll spend no more than $600 on groceries during September and put everything we save toward our emergency fund." 🏆 THIS YEAR Where do you want to be by the end of the year? Think bigger here, but still make it measurable. "We'll pay off our remaining $4,500 credit card balance by December 31." Notice how these can build on each other: This week's actions → this month's progress → this year's goal. That's where I want us to get. 👇 Now it's your turn. Put your goals in the comments: THIS WEEK: - THIS MONTH: - THIS YEAR: - They don't have to be financial goals, either: Money. Marriage. Career. Business. Parenting. Faith. Health. Personal growth. Your goals should reflect the extraordinary life you're trying to create, not just your bank account, and once you post them, don't disappear if you don't accomplish them. Accountability isn't just celebrating when everything goes according to plan. Sometimes it's coming back and saying: "I said I was going to do this. I didn't. Here's what happened."
Pantry Challenge Check-In ✅
It’s time to check in on our progress! Remember, this challenge isn’t about being perfect, it’s about becoming more intentional with what we buy and using what we already have. Share your answers in the comments: 1. How much have you spent on groceries so far this month? 2. What’s one thing you did well this week? 3. What’s one thing you plan to do before our next check-in? 4. What meal or ingredient did you discover you could make using something already in your pantry or freezer?
