Talk about Inflammation at your next doctor's appointment
If you think about it, Fibroids are a symptom of some form of inflammation. This relationship is why some treatment approaches focus on reducing inflammation through diet, lifestyle changes, or anti-inflammatory medications, which may help manage fibroid symptoms or slow their growth alongside conventional treatments. This was my method as well. It starts with understanding that inflammation promotes fibroid growth and chronic inflammation in the uterus creates an environment that encourages fibroid development and growth. ALSO - Inflammatory cells and signaling molecules (cytokines) can cause fibroids to multiply and produce excess fibrous tissue. So if fibroids cause local inflammation then you can bet the presence of fibroids themselves triggers an inflammatory response in the surrounding uterine tissue. This creates a feedback loop where inflammation supports fibroid growth, and the fibroids maintain inflammation. If you want to get a sense of your inflammatory markers talk to your doctor about running test for inflammation - I'll make a new post on this as well. Finally - your can initiate these conversations with your doctor and if they brush off your efforts, take it as a sign that your doctor might not be seeing the whole picture. After your appointment, set up your 20-min onboarding call so we can make a plan! Brendalyn

Delusion about my Fibroids diagnosis
Hey ya'll! I'm writing up a newsletter to go out to the community this week and I thought to share this screen shot with you as I continue to face how much delusion I was in when dealing with my fibroids... The scene is New Year's Eve 2016, My friend William and I were preparing to go to a party and I reached out to him with an encouraging word and quickly stepped over my imminent situation that I was in the Emergency Room. Reading back It hurts me to know that I had bled so much that I ended up in the ER on my 2nd favorite holiday - New Year's Eve (New Year's Day is my favorite) and in reviewing this email, it is so obvious how much I wanted to avoid making any decisions about my fibroids. I was delusional! I did end up getting a blood transfusion - I needed 2 pints of blood and it took about 6 hours for the transfusion to complete. It was a horrific situation and I had buried it until I recently walked past that hospital - more to share there. What do you get from this message? How can it support you in maintaining your momentum toward your fibroids? If you're not sure if you're on the newsletter - drop your email at www.brendalynking.com and you'll be automatically added. Chat soon! Brendalyn

Delusion about my Fibroids diagnosis
Paid Membership starts September 1
Hello! First, I want to extend a warm welcome to our 3 new members who joined today—we’re so glad you’re here! This is a space where we honor each other’s journeys with fibroids, share resources, and walk together toward healing. Please take a moment to introduce yourself so we can say hello. 💕 I also want to let everyone know that the community will remain completely free through Sunday, August 31. Starting Monday, September 1, this group will become a paid membership space. If you're already here, that means it'll be free for you for life. This shift allows us to deepen our conversations, share resources more intentionally, and create a container that truly supports your healing journey. I'll post the community call schedule this weekend. So - know someone who should be here with us? Now is the perfect time to explore, ask questions, and connect. Let’s make these next few days rich with introductions, stories, and support. With love and care, Brendalyn
