I just read about researchers who tested a simple way to fix bad posture at work. They had 10 college students doing desk work while an app recorded them. The app showed colors on their body - green for good posture, yellow for okay, and red for bad.
Here's the crazy part: Just showing people video of themselves working was enough to fix their posture! No nagging, no reminders. They just saw themselves sitting badly and naturally fixed it.
Most students kept their good posture even when they only watched the video every 5 days. That's wild to me.
My take? We don't realize how we look when we're working. Once you see it, your brain goes "oh no, let me fix that." It's like magic but it's just awareness.
I'm definitely more aware of my own neck right now after reading this...
The app they used is called SoterGenius and it's already available. Makes me wonder what other bad habits we could fix just by watching ourselves do them.
Anyone else struggle with computer neck pain?
