This is defined as how many units of a product are required for purchasing it directly from the factory. Some overseas factories have MOQs in the thousands, others lower, such as in the hundreds. This will make a huge impact on how many sizes and colors you can carry as well as your profit margin. When you are vetting a factory, you will need to know what their standard MOQ is and if its negotiable. Also, depending on the country you are manufacturing in your MOQ might be so much higher that it might be more expensive than working with a factory that has a higher price per pair but a lower MOQ. This means each pair might be more expensive, but if you only have to purchase 10% of the quantity that might be more cost effective in the long run. MOQs impact the true cost of production and your ability to reorder plus so much more. We like to do small batches of 5-10 pairs when companies are starting out so they can be tested, tried on for comfort, obtain feedback from friends & family, shown to investors and seeded to influencers.
