Does it feel like a full time job to decide what to cook everyday ?
It sure does to me! All the people who cook for their families, Friends at home I want to tell you it's a huge job , so good job 👏 deciding what to make for breakfast, snacks , more snacks and dinner perhaps dessert or sweet snacks, ITS A JOB!!!! I've spent 15 years helping people in my local area and I'm currently looking for my skool pod of people who want to share learn and grow together in this new economy of crazy food prices. I went to the close corner grocery store to look at fresh cuts of meat and I'll tell you today isn't Beef's day it's Chickens week for sure! Everyone also has colds except me so it's definitely a chicken soup 3 days of stock time! So yes Im off to decide what to cook 🧑‍🍳 I'm going to practice how to remove unwanted members soon And I'm also in process of creating some free classes I have bread making up currently it's a work in progress but I'm going to offer several more free to those who like my tidbits so far but still work in progress! I need food buddies where are you 👀👀🤷‍♀️

Meal prepping for the surviving soul A community filled with food lovers and food creators . Let's make some food
We live in a time of uncertainty with our economy, our food sources and our products that we import into our country. What will we keep? What will they take away and what do we have the resources to create on our own? One the biggest uncertainty is how much will it going to cost us ? The average working Canadian how much? Right now it's costing this single mother every penny I have to feed my kids Over the last 5 years we have all felt the pain of just simple ingredients become so much more expensive then we could have imagined and we watched our corporations increase prices with no explanation,. We have been gauched by every market and corp out there, wholesale to retail they are all money thieves and they are getting away with it. They are selling food products from vanilla to milk, butter, yogurt, flour, sugar eggs and cheese at astronomical price increase from let's just say the 80's till now , HUGE and why?? Corporate Greed! That's my answer! Personally I've had enough Let's not mention that veggies are almost as much as meat in some places and key ingredients have escalated in prices so much it's making pre prepared products even more outrageously priced and beyond affordable for the average household incomes to afford. I once read that a newly immigrated family who just moved to Toronto could barely afford to buy their 2 children a box of chicken nuggets! No child should go without chicken nuggets. I have developed meal prepping recipes to help my budget and to be able to afford healthy nutritious and non processed foods for my family. It all comes down to planning, execution and what to buy. I have developed my own methods of planning, preparing and cooking so that I do not need to be subjected to the industry greed and I can save my money for the enjoyment of life. I've been a private cook for so so many families over the last 15 years I've been writing and testing and planning! I'm so excited to step into the skool communities and start making wonderful connections and teach people about cooking! I will be putting out new food content every day as we start this journey together. I am always doing something in my kitchen, even if it's in and out in and out and a quickie here and there but by the end of the day I've set myself up always for success for the next day. I'm always prepare for the next day and I'm always busy whipping up several delicious meals for people on the regular. And now I can share it with you!
How much Is your grocery shopping budget today ?
I'm from Canada and I live In one of the big cities but not the biggest. It's quite expensive in Calgary Alberta, prices of housing, gas and clothing is high, highest ever since I've been am adult. Not a lot of jobs around so budgets are low! Being a personal chef and housekeeper I'm definitely not finding the work I use to. People are faced with choices about their food budgets more then ever. I'm also a single mother currently one kid left at home and my food budget is about the cost of when I had 3 kids at home for just him 😔 Right now I have a budget of $150 every 2 weeks. It's super low I know but I'm around the poverty level or bow for income so I have to spend very little so that I can pay the extremely high rents and utilities it actually takes 75% of what I nake. So with $150 every 2 weeks I need to make my son breakfasts lunch snacks and dinners. Here is my quick list 2 packs of proteins (chicken thighs, ground beef) Pack of peppers $$$ very expensive by the way $8 for a pack of 4 -6 2 cans of tomatoes Oil Milk butter eggs Carrots cucumbers Garlic Can of beans or dried, small soy sauce Maybe honey or brown sugar One new spice Pack of chocolate chips Bag of potatoes That's about all you can get on $150! And all small sizes as $150!is a low budget for around here! Now it's up to me to make 7 meals, bread cookie muffins and hopefully make it taste good 😊 I would make homemade buns Loaf of toast bread and sandwiche bread Vanilla muffins and chocolate chip cookies Hamburgers, meatballs and spaghetti sauce and a small portion for lunch taco wraps Scalloped potatoes and freezer French fries. Fresh veggie salad with homemade dressing ( Cesar and Italian) Spice up the thoughts and air fry or bake em for lunch and dinner so many yummy recipes for chicken thighs very satisfying protein for versatile recipes for families! And with the little but if dollars left I hit the dollar store, the best grocery store out there for the poor folk Dollarama! What's your favorite low budget store in your courry?
