I have been studying the Scriptures nearly all my life. My journey began at the age of three, standing on a pulpit to proclaim: "If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature. Old things have passed away and behold, all things have become new." Like many, I was "dragged" to church as a child, but during college, that changed. I heard the voice of God calling me to preach. In my junior year, I began leading a weekly Bible study. It was there that I discovered the true heart of discipleship. As our group grew, our "salt and light" drew many on campus to Christ, and I was honored to receive the Office of Student Affairs' first-ever Golden Rule Award. However, my path wasn't without its shadows. While attending seminary, I was awarded the preaching award and elected chaplain of the senior class at 23. I also suffered a nervous breakdown that led to a three-year battle with depression. That "dark night of the soul" taught me more about the character of God than any academic study ever could; I moved from the God I had imagined to the God who truly is. After God healed me, I founded Look Up and Live, Inc., a parachurch ministry dedicated to building people for the Kingdom of God through worship, discipleship, and evangelism. Having pastored congregations in Florida and Texas, I am now excited to bring that same passion for discipleship to this online community!
