Progress
Hello beautiful people!
It's been such a beautiful time of growth and opportunity, and I thought I'd share some things that have been working:
  1. Body Movement: move your body for at least 30 minutes a day. For best results, waking up earlier to train really activates the dopamine and alpha brain waves that fuel your day.
  2. Prepping your week ahead of time: if you've got multiple projects on the go (#that'swhywe'rehere...), take time to separate your days, focussing on one project each day. It gives you the opportunity to build depth and make progress instead of working super hard and feeling like you haven't finished anything.
  3. Move through the block: This is a big one. Our Alpha brain waves are essentially the muscle we are training. You know when you get to a challenging part of your work and instead of pushing through, you jump into something else? That's exactly the moment to return back to what you were doing and push through. Over time, it will be easier to flow through the work load.
  4. TAKE COGNITIVE BREAKS: With ADHD, we will hyper-focus on something without realising how much time has passed. That's great, until you try to get back into the work and your entire system is depleted. Take breaks often, set timers, go for walks, shake your body, stretch. Whatever you do, just give your brain an opportunity to reset.
  5. Put your phone away for an hour at a time-it's your biggest alpha brain blocker
Using these practices-along with some intention setting and a great attitude-I have been finding a flow that helps me get sh*t done-using my ADHD as a super power!
What are some things that work for you to stay focused?
