Can someone give me some insight and maybe tips on how to handle this ADHD pattern?
I really enjoy recording and editing videos for social media. I’ve only been creating Instagram Reels so far, but this year I’m also making videos for my Skool classroom and YouTube. It’s a lot of work, but I genuinely enjoy the process and can drop into hyperfocus once I’m in it.
But for some reason, I massively procrastinate starting. I can’t seem to get myself into my office to begin. I’ll spend hours doing other things I don’t even enjoy, or doing nothing at all, before I finally drag myself in, and then I’ll spend hours happily creating. Often working way past my bed time and totally messing up my am and pm routines. 🙄
This happens with other things too, but video creation is the most pressing right now.
Why do I do this? And how can I work with it rather than fighting it?
