What does MOVEMENT mean to YOU?
What I’ve been sharing lately is super basic—classical foundation. And I’m going to keep sharing more of it. At some point I’ll move into the more intricate movement, but I’m not rushing that. Because the deeper I go, the more I’m reminded of something… Movement isn’t just “levels.” Beginner. Novice. Advanced. Honestly, even the advanced stuff can be picked up by a beginner depending on how they feel the movement. What matters… is movement itself. And I say that because there was a time when I couldn’t move. I had a torn rotator cuff … and to be real, I still deal with it today. It’s manageable now, but years ago it was bad. I could hardly do anything. And when your body stops moving, your mind starts slipping. Discouragement. Worthlessness. Depression. All of that creeps in. So when I teach, when I share these drills, when I see you all practicing… I don’t take it lightly. Movement is a gift. Movement is expression. Movement is life. I appreciate every single one of you in here — all levels, all backgrounds … showing up… More is coming. And everything will eventually be categorized for clarity (Beginner / Advanced). But the real question underneath all of this is: What does movement mean to you? Comment below. I’d love to hear it. 🙏🏼

🎵 Reunited . . . Instrumental
Working on some things in the background. This track has been on loop for several hours. Thing is . . . as weird as it sounds, I haven't listened to Wu in AGES. As I began to shift mindset and spiritually getting closer to God (of the Bible). I stopped listening to a lot of music that got me in the zone, music that actually developed my style. Not because 'God' told me to ... but because my SPIRIT drifted from it. But What do I mean it 'developed my Style?' My crew's name, Skill Methodz was birthed by the saturation of the Wu Sound. Endless hours of playing their cassette tapes and/or CDs. Instruments that the RZA orchestrated/sampled ... which orchestrated my angles and direction...The melody, the bass, the drum....individually & collectively. And of course the word 'Method' . . . is self-explanatory M-E-T-H-O-D . . . WHY do I share this? Well, there's always a story to every 'Method' and the external things that guide us may eventually be shelved. And new fires get sparked every several years. I've had the amazing opportunity of actually meeting and talking to one of the Members (Method Man) on set of a movie . . . who KNEW!? You never know who you'll meet in your lifetime, you'll never know right away the reasons for certain sparks in your movement. As I turned my back on alot of things along my path to meaning...I cherish those things and am grateful ... because it made my Style and in development . .. it is what caught some eyes within the culture.
