🚨 LEAK DETECTION TIP OF THE DAY 🚨
One of the biggest mistakes homeowners make is assuming a “small wet spot” is no big deal.
In irrigation systems, a small leak almost always turns into: 💧 Higher water bills💧 Washed out trenches💧 Low pressure across zones💧 Valve failures💧 Foundation or driveway damage💧 Major pipe blowouts later
Here’s a quick field test we use before digging:
✅ Turn ALL water fixtures off in the house✅ Make sure irrigation is NOT running✅ Check your water meter
If the leak indicator is still spinning… you’ve got water moving somewhere.
Now the important part:
A leak does NOT always show up where the actual break is located.
Water follows: ➡️ trench lines➡️ roots➡️ slopes➡️ least resistance
That means the soggy area you SEE might be 10–50 feet away from the REAL problem.
Common hidden leak points we see constantly in the field: • Swing pipe fittings• Cracked lateral lines• Bad valve diaphragms• Mainline glue joints• Poly pipe insert fittings• Damaged rotor seals• Root pinch points• Freeze cracks
🔥 Pro Tip: If your system suddenly has:
  • weak heads
  • misting spray
  • pressure loss
  • air sputtering
  • zones not fully popping up
…there’s a very good chance you’re dealing with a hidden leak BEFORE you’re dealing with a sprinkler problem.
Most irrigation issues are hydraulic problems first and sprinkler problems second.
That’s why proper diagnostics matter.
