How to know if you have a weak core
And yes... You can have abs on show and still have a weak core.
What do you think the fundamental job is of our core?
Lets talk about the Transverse Abdominis.
The TA is a sheet of muscle that extends from your ribs to your pelvis and wraps around your trunk from front to back. Its the deepest part of your core and acts as a stabilizer.
So... if you are only doing movements for your core that include bending of the spine.. you are missing a fundamental aspect of core training.
The TA maintains tension to protect and support our organs and manages intra-abdominal pressure for weight lifting, carrying our babies and everything inbetween.
Here are some signs that you have a weak core:
Poor posture, fatigue, low back pain, increase muscle injuries and hernias.
