New Tank Nitrite Spike
Hi everyone, I’m looking for some guidance. I have a 40g Aquatop AIO that was fishless cycled with Fritz TurboStart and confirmed cycled before adding fish. I added 2 clownfish last Thursday.
On Sunday I saw a nitrite spike, so I did a ~10% water change and dosed MicroBacter. Since then I’ve been dosing 5 mL daily, feeding very lightly, and nitrites are slowly coming down. Ammonia remains low and nitrate is present. Fish appear calm and okay.
Should I stay the course and let the tank stabilize, or is there anything else I should be doing right now?
Thanks in advance 🙏🏻
