Long-Term Reefing, Short-Term Sanity: Introduction
I’ve been in saltwater for nearly 30 years, starting as a kid in freshwater before inevitably falling down the reef rabbit hole. Today I run a 200-gallon bowfront display, a 25-gallon frag tank, and I’ve just started a 7-gallon drop-off nano dedicated to rock flower anemones.
I’m very DIY, highly technical, and always interested in understanding the why behind what works. I like systems that are stable, intentional, and a little over-engineered—lab-grade when possible, but still practical. Time and budget are always a constraint (as this hobby loves to remind us), so I aim for solutions that deliver reliability and wow factor without unnecessary complexity.
I’m here to learn, share what’s worked (and what hasn’t), and enjoy the process with people who appreciate both the science and the art of reefing.
