Frequency Day 2!
FREQUENCY…DAY TWO
WHAT YOU FEED GETS LOUDER
Yesterday we established something simple:
YOU ARE ALWAYS TUNING IN.
Your attention is going somewhere. Your imagination is seeing something. Your emotions are responding to something. Your mouth is agreeing with something.
Today we take it one step further:
WHAT YOU CONTINUALLY GIVE YOUR ATTENTION TO GETS LOUDER IN YOUR EXPERIENCE.
Romans 8:5 says:
“For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.”
Notice the word MIND.
What are you setting your mind on?
Because you can belong to God and still spend your entire morning tuned into fear.
You can know Scripture and spend three hours rehearsing an offense.
You can believe in forgiveness while replaying what somebody did to you.
You can believe God provides while constantly imagining yourself running out.
You can believe God loves you while allowing shame to preach to you all day long.
This is why frequency, as we are using the word in this teaching, is so practical.
I am not talking about some magical number of hertz.
I am talking about what you are repeatedly TUNED TO.
Colossians 3:2 says:
“Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.”
SET IT.
That means there is intentionality involved.
You do not have to accept every thought that enters your mind.
You do not have to entertain every fear your feelings produce.
You do not have to build a house for every thought that knocks on the door.
You can recognize it and redirect.
This is where we have to become extremely practical.
The SECOND I begin hearing something from my feelings, fears, flesh, past, trauma, circumstances or imagination that does not line up with what the Father says, I recognize that I am beginning to tune into the wrong station.
And I RESET.
If the Father says forgiveness and I am rehearsing offense, RESET.
If the Father says unconditional love and I am rehearsing rejection, RESET.
If the Father keeps no record of wrongs and I am mentally building a case against somebody, RESET.
If the Father says I am His beloved and my mind starts telling me I am worthless, RESET.
If God says He will never leave me nor forsake me and fear starts telling me I am alone, RESET.
I DO NOT HAVE TO KEEP LISTENING.
Philippians 4:8 gives us the filter:
“Whatever things are true, whatever things are honest, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report…think on these things.”
This is frequency management.
This is guarding your heart.
This is renewing your mind.
This is taking thoughts captive.
This is learning how to stay conscious of what you are agreeing with.
2 Corinthians 10:5 says we are to bring “into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.”
EVERY THOUGHT DOES NOT DESERVE YOUR AGREEMENT.
Some thoughts need to be observed and released.
Some thoughts need to be replaced with truth.
Some thoughts need to be interrupted immediately.
And sometimes you do not need another hour of analyzing why you feel the way you feel.
Sometimes you need to CHANGE THE STATION.
Turn on worship music.
Get outside.
Take slow intentional breaths.
Pray in the Spirit.
Move your body.
Open your Bible.
Speak truth out loud.
Sit silently with the Father.
Call somebody who carries peace.
Put your phone down.
Take ten deep breaths and bring your awareness back into the present moment.
Whatever helps you return your attention to truth, love, peace and the presence of God, USE IT.
Not because you are afraid of negative emotions.
We do not suppress emotions.
We acknowledge them without allowing them to become our master.
Jesus experienced grief.
Jesus wept.
Jesus experienced tremendous pressure.
But His circumstances never got to redefine His Father.
That is maturity.
Your feelings are information.
They are not always instruction.
You can feel fear without obeying fear.
You can feel rejection without becoming rejection.
You can feel anger without building your home there.
You can experience sadness while remaining rooted in love.
The goal is not emotional perfection.
THE GOAL IS ALIGNMENT.
Romans 12:2 says:
“Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”
Transformation happens as the mind is renewed.
So today, pay attention to what you are feeding.
Every time you rehearse something, you strengthen your attention toward it.
Every time you interrupt an old pattern and return to truth, you practice another way of thinking.
That is why this work becomes easier with repetition.
You are training your attention.
You are learning to recognize the Father’s voice.
You are learning to recognize peace.
You are learning to recognize love.
You are learning what deserves your agreement.
Jesus said in John 10:27:
“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.”
You were never created to be dragged around all day by every thought that appears in your head.
YOU CAN TUNE.
YOU CAN DIRECT.
YOU CAN RETURN.
And you can do it as many times as necessary.
Ten times today.
A hundred times today.
There is no condemnation in needing to reset.
The reset IS the practice.
TODAY’S ACTIVATION
Catch yourself throughout the day.
The moment you recognize fear, condemnation, offense, shame, scarcity, rejection or another thought pattern pulling you away from what you know the Father is saying, stop.
Take a slow breath.
Then ask:
WHAT AM I TUNED TO RIGHT NOW?
WHAT IS THE FATHER SAYING?
WHICH ONE AM I GOING TO AGREE WITH?
Then physically do something that helps bring your attention back into alignment.
Breathe.
Worship.
Walk.
Pray.
Stretch.
Speak Scripture.
Sit quietly.
Give thanks.
Then say:
I DO NOT HAVE TO BELIEVE EVERYTHING I THINK.
I DO NOT HAVE TO OBEY EVERYTHING I FEEL.
I SET MY MIND ON THE THINGS OF THE SPIRIT.
I TUNE MY ATTENTION TO TRUTH.
I AGREE WITH LOVE.
I AGREE WITH FORGIVENESS.
I AGREE WITH PEACE.
I AGREE WITH WHAT MY FATHER SAYS.
I TAKE EVERY THOUGHT CAPTIVE TO THE OBEDIENCE OF CHRIST.
I AM NOT DRIFTING THROUGH MY INNER WORLD.
I AM CONSCIOUS OF WHAT I GIVE MY ATTENTION TO.
WHAT I FEED GETS LOUDER.
SO TODAY, I FEED TRUTH.
I FEED LOVE.
I FEED PEACE.
I FEED THE WORD.
I TUNE IN TO THE FATHER.
AND WHEN I NOTICE I HAVE DRIFTED…
I SIMPLY TUNE BACK IN.
THIS IS THE WAY.
