Start here: your first 10 minutes
Welcome. This post stays at the top so you always know where to begin. 1. Say hello on the introductions post so we know who's here. 2. Open the Classroom tab. Everything is already unlocked - all four weeks, right now. Nothing is drip-released and nothing is waiting on approval. 3. Start Week 1, Lesson 1: "The Jobs Behind IT." It's short. You can finish it today. 4. Ask questions here. If something doesn't make sense, post it. That's useful information for us, and I answer every one. A few things worth knowing up front: - It's free. All four weeks. No card, no trial, nothing to buy to finish. - It's self-paced. "4 weeks" is a suggested pace, not a deadline. - No experience is assumed. If you've never thought about how a computer actually works, you are exactly who this was built for. Finish all four weeks and you'll be ready for our full CompTIA Tech+ prep program. But that's later. For now: Week 1, Lesson 1.

Week 1 is open: what IT jobs really look like (and what they pay)
Week 1 is live in the Classroom, and it answers the question most people are actually asking: is this field worth it for me? Three lessons and a quiz: - The Jobs Behind "IT" - help desk, support, security, cloud, systems. What each one actually does all day. - What You Can Actually Earn - real numbers for this region, not national averages that don't reflect what you'd be offered here. - Your 30-Day Roadmap - what to do first, second, and third. - Quiz: find your entry point, based on where you're starting from. Budget about an hour. Then come back and tell us which role surprised you. For most people it isn't the one they expected walking in. Start Week 1 in the Classroom tab.
Introduce yourself
New here? Copy these four lines into a comment and fill them in. Takes 30 seconds, and it helps us point you in the right direction. Where you're at: (working, in school, between jobs, changing careers...) What pulled you toward IT: What you're most unsure about: One thing you want to be able to do 4 weeks from now: I read every one of these and reply. If you've already started a lesson, say which one - it helps to see where everyone is.
