🎸 New Fingerstyle Tab – Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)
Hey everyone, This week's new fingerstyle tab is Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life) by Green Day. Most people know Green Day as one of the biggest punk rock bands of the 1990s, but this acoustic song showed a completely different side of the band and went on to become one of their most popular recordings. It's a great song for fingerstyle guitar. The melody sits nicely under the fingers, the chord progression flows beautifully and it has that timeless acoustic feel that makes it enjoyable to play again and again. I've created both a Full and Easy Version and the videos are available below for you to listen to. If you'd like to learn the arrangement yourself, the PDFs and Guitar Pro files are available inside the full membership along with my complete library of materials. As a member you'll get access to: 🎵 400+ Fingerstyle Tabs 📄 PDF + Guitar Pro Files 📅 New Tabs and Exercises Every Week 🎓 Beginner Fingerstyle Courses 🎸 Beginner Fingerstyle Blues Course 🧠 Technique Exercises and Practice Materials 🎥 New Video Tutorials as they're released Plus everything new that gets added throughout the year. If you'd like to take a look, you can find more information here: https://www.skool.com/fingerstyleguitarschool/about Have a great weekend and enjoy the videos. Jack
🎸 New Free Materials – The Beatles and Arpeggios
Hey, This week's free materials bundle is now available. The new Tab of the Week needs no introduction... 🎵 While My Guitar Gently Weeps – The Beatles Written by George Harrison, this Beatles classic works beautifully as a fingerstyle guitar arrangement and has always been one of my favourite Beatles songs. The Easy Version is available now in the classroom tab along with the PDF, Guitar Pro file and playalong video. If you'd like to try the Full Version, you can get a copy here 🎸 New Fingerstyle Exercise – Passing Notes This week's exercise focuses on passing notes. A passing note is simply a note used to connect one chord to the next, helping your fingerstyle arrangements sound smoother and more musical. I've put together five arpeggio exercises that use passing notes in different ways, with each one becoming slightly more challenging than the last. The exercise PDFs and Guitar Pro files are also available in the classroom tab. If you'd rather get your hands on all of my materials instead of waiting for the weekly free releases, you might enjoy Full Membership. As a full member you'll get instant access to: 🎵 400+ Fingerstyle Tabs 🧠 100+ Fingerstyle Exercises 📄 PDF + Guitar Pro Files 📅 Every new tab and exercise released over the next year 🎓 Complete beginner and blues guitar courses 🎥 New video tutorials that I'm currently recording for my course books If that sounds interesting, you can join us here Thanks Jack
New Free Materials Coming Tomorrow
Hey, I’m going to make a small change to the free materials schedule. From now on, I’ll be uploading both the free song tab and the free exercise together every Monday. That means you’ll get everything in one go, and I won’t have to keep pestering you with extra emails during the week! I actually decided this yesterday and I’m still finishing this week’s videos, so just for this week everything will be available tomorrow instead. After that, Mondays will be the new regular release day. This is also a good reminder that the free songs and exercises are only available on a weekly rotation, so make sure you download last week’s materials today — once they’re replaced tomorrow, they’re gone for good. FYI — if you’d rather not mess around with downloading weekly freebies and just want full access to everything straight away, you can become a full member here: Thanks, Jack
🎸 Free Exercise – Little Finger Arpeggio Exercise
Hey, This week’s free fingerstyle exercise sounds great and is designed to help improve one of the most overlooked parts of fingerstyle guitar technique… using your little finger effectively. But before I get into the exercise, I wanted to quickly mention something new. Over the last few weeks I’ve had quite a few messages from people who wanted access to all of my materials but weren’t keen on memberships or recurring payments. I completely understand that, so I’ve now put together a complete downloadable bundle featuring everything currently available in the classroom tabs as a one-time purchase. That means you get all of the PDFs and Guitar Pro files from the current classroom library without needing a subscription. The only difference is that future tabs, exercises and upcoming materials are not included, but they are for members. You can take a look here. Now back to this week’s exercise… One of the biggest differences I noticed when I moved from “normal” guitar playing to fingerstyle was how much more you rely on your little finger to grab extra melody notes and extensions within chord shapes. This exercise is designed to help develop that skill. You’ll play a fingerstyle arpeggio pattern over common open chords while using your little finger to add extra melody notes into the progression. It’s a great way to improve: • Little finger strength • Finger independence • Chord control • Fingerstyle coordination • Smooth melody playing The PDFs and Guitar Pro files are available now in the classroom tab. 🎵 And if you’re a Neil Diamond fan, make sure to check back tomorrow because this week’s new tab is Play Me. Thanks Jack
